Catalogue range: Philatelic Hub PK103–PK105

Pakistan issued a small but historically significant group of postage stamps in 1959. The first, catalogued as PK103, commemorated Revolution Day, marking the first anniversary of the political change and military government established in October 1958. Its subject reflects the official national narrative promoted during the early Ayub Khan period. The other two stamps celebrated the centenary of the international Red Cross movement. Their designs recognise humanitarian service, medical assistance and the worldwide importance of organised relief work. The Red Cross issue connects Pakistan philately with a popular international collecting theme represented in the stamp programmes of many countries. Although only three principal individual stamps appear in the Philatelic Hub sequence for this year, they offer a striking contrast between domestic political history and global humanitarian cooperation.
